Yet, when I take a moment to reflect on my journey, I realize that I was never truly alone. There were incredible gems along the way—people who offered their unwavering support in ways I didn’t fully appreciate back then.
Let me take you back to my late 30's. Picture a young, overwhelmed version of myself, standing at the crossroads of a huge decision to make. Of course, I know now that he had a lot to say but was very careful not to upset me in any way and that he had profound ways to let me know what he wanted me to know.
There was a time I believed he simply thought, “It’s her life—let her do with it what she wants.” For example, he once gave me a card, he wrote the words "I wish for you, what you wish for yourself." You could have knocked me over with a feather. He was sincere in his wish for me. I now pass that moment on to others, reminding them it’s perfectly okay to desire what matters most in their lives. Of course there are some limitations with that. But you know what I mean. (If it's quite a personal wish it should remain so). Simple words, yet they ignited a fire within me. It was a profound moment of support, reminding me that even in my darkest doubts, I had quiet yet strong support ready to lift me up.
