Dolores Goodey is an author, speaker, and certified life coach who helps women recognise their own resilience and build a life that truly reflects who they are becoming.
MY STORY
From a life built for others to one that finally reflects me.
I married young and had three children by the time I was twenty-four. I took those responsibilities seriously and gave everything to a steady, happy home. From the outside, life looked complete. Yet underneath, something stirred, a quiet longing for more and a need to reclaim my own voice and identity.
As I began to grow, to learn and obtain professional skills, I noticed that my pursuit of independence was unravelling a marriage built on expectations that no longer fit the person I was becoming. The signs had always been there. I simply had not wanted to see them.
So I chose to prove to myself that there was more waiting for me. I became a chef, where cooking became my expression and my empowerment, and later I fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a secondary school teacher. Breaking away was not easy, but neither was staying in a place that no longer aligned with who I was becoming.
With each step forward I discovered strength I never knew existed. That is the heart of my work today.
The life we build for ourselves matters as much as everything we give to those we love.
Today my mission is clear: to help other women recognise their own inner resilience and move forward despite fear, despite uncertainty, despite the weight of what has always been.
